Finance sales jobs created by ferry company in Belfast
A ferry company has created 60 new financial sales jobs in Belfast.
Norfolkline will be adding to its finance centre in the Northern Irish capital, which already employs 30 staff.
However, that number is set to treble when the company moves all of its European financial sales jobs to the city.
The project is supported by Invest Northern Ireland, which has offered £376,000 of help, leading to an additional £1 million in annual wages in Belfast.
Arlene Foster, enterprise minister for Invest Northern Ireland, said that the new finance service centre will see existing administration functions, which are currently located in seven European countries, centralised in Belfast, giving local people a variety of skilled career opportunities.
"Norfolkline's decision validates the strength of the Northern Ireland value proposition. It is a major endorsement of the strength of our growing financial services sector and the exceptional skills base which has developed in recent years," she added.
The ferry provider recently introduced a service onto the Irish Sea, to improve the facilities and scheduling to its freight customers who travel between Heysham and Belfast.
